Dead Space 2

I meant to write this about a month ago. My bad. Dead Space 2 is the most ridiculously scary game I have played. I love horror movies, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278340/ , but this game was too much. Every time you walk down a hallway you are guaranteed a zombie space thing to jump out of a shaft or doorway to scare the fucking shit out of you.

The gameplay reminded me of BioShock and Mass Effect with your ability to use something like telekinesis to move things, slow things down, and use objects as weapons. This part was cool. It is a 3rd person shooter, which fucking sucks. I actually did enjoy the weapon upgrade system because it enabled you to enhance the weapons you like. My weapons of choice were the Line Gun and Plasma Cutter. The Line Gun was incredibly effective to cut off those fucker’s legs so they had to CRAWL towards you ::shudder::. There are hacking elements that are 100% like Mass Effect.

The worst part about the game are the Raptor Space Zombie things. This part of the game is…. well it reminds me of Jurassic Park and there are several points in the game where you fight the same fight. Pretty repetitive.

The lacking part of Dead Space 2 obviously was the storyline (and the inability to stop crying and screaming when scary things scare you). I knew who my character was, I kind of understood his character…. but near the end I had no idea what was going on nor did I care- I just wanted to finish the game so I could put it away and never look at it again.

Overall, I suggest borrowing this from a friend (which is what I did) because I can’t imagine wanting to play it again.
